How do I know who's racing what.
Have you have entered your A B and C event this year? You should do it Here. Priority TeamLG events are *A* listed for the year. To keep the list fresh We have about 60 days of races listed plus all *A* races.
Now you are able to start "filtering" to see who's racing. Take a look, You can see all entries or filter any way you want.
To filter: use the drop down list in the first row. As you filter, By name, Cat, Name & Cat, Any and/or none - the listing becomes more focused.

power geeks
In an attempt to balance fitness with overeating over the holidays, I got on the relatives' treadmill. I know, specificity, running VO2Max doesn't equal cycling VO2Max. I found I was in Z5 at 6-6.5mph, or 500+ cal/hr. Gone are the days of 7 minute miles.
I found a cool site which you can plug in your parameters.

In short, 24mph requires about 280W, and about 1000 cal/hr, significantly higher than running. FWIW, the power estimates for this calculation are higher than analyticcycling, so YMMV. Time to ramp up the training.

Simi Ride!

The Simi RIde
This Saturday, Dec. 5th.
Total Distance: 69 miles
Meet in the parking at the SE corner of Valley Circle and the 101 Freeway (near McDonalds).
We roll from here at 7:30am sharp. We will ride an easy-ish 15 miles to the official start in Simi Valley around 8:40.
This allows a low-pressure warm-up and puts our cars very close to the official ride end.
Directions:
101N exit Valley Circle. LEFT at top of ramp onto Valley Circle (name changes immediately to Mulholland). Cross over 101 and pass the light. First left into the parking lot. Bear left and I'll be there before you reach McDonalds.
It may be cold so dress warmly.
The Ride:
We will be doing the long route which is about 54 miles with a fast pace and a couple of climbs to keep you honest. I suggest everyone do this route and not the short version. Many of the guys on the long ride are faster than you and you may get dropped (either temporarily or completely). That is all part of the Simi experience. The goal is to progress until you DON'T get dropped. This ride is like a race and is great training. Your goals should be to hang on to the 1st or 2nd group, utilize some road race strategy and most importantly have fun!!
There is a SHORT re-group at mile 30 with bathrooms and water. Do your business quickly and be prepared to roll or you will be left behind.
You will likely be done by 12 noon.

"King" of the team rides
Team Rides are a great way to engage and learn about your race buddies.
Jaycee Cary has taken the mantle of team ride leader but that doesn't mean your opinion, or your ride, is not welcomed. It is. Jaycee needs/want to get us out to new areas, and we all want to learn great new routes.
Suggest your route to Jaycee, to get it on the calendar for an up coming team event date. Let's agree to make it a "Map my ride" or "Google Map" attachment and your commentary for when it's appropriate.
My Favourite off season route was the 5 counties ride hosted by LA Wheelmen. super nice near zero traffic and just as many services (bring food water and electrolytes) if you do it unsupported. http://lawheelmen.org/schedule.htm

Saturday, November 14 - 8:00 a.m. FIVE COUNTY CENTURY This is our annual century in the wilds of Los Angeles, Kern, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties. Registration is required and there is a small fee involved to cover the cost of support. Chairpersons are Renee Smith and Clem Bartolai. Below are all the pertinent details. We hope to see you there.
WHERE: Start Location: The century will start at the Latter Day Saints Church parking lot in Lake of the Woods, California, which is north of Los Angeles near Gorman. Take the Golden State Freeway (I-5) north to the Frazier Park Exit (1st exit after passing Gorman). At the bottom of the ramp, turn left and go 6.4 miles and turn right into the church parking lot. Park at the far (west) end of the lot. We would like to thank Bishop Jeff Neeley for allowing us to use the church parking lot.

Team Camp was awesome
Thanks to all the guys that made it up to Solvang for our 4/5 Team Camp this past weekend. It was an amazing weekend of riding, hanging, soaking, eating, and Jenga. For those who missed it don't worry, we'll do something like this again for sure.
